International Olympic day celebrated by Hockey J&K
Jammu, June 23, 2021: Hockey J&K organised an exhibition match between Junior Men and Women teams to observe Olympic Day celebrations at Green Field Gandhi Nagar Jammu on 23rd June.
Mr. Rajiv Sharma President Hockey J&K was the chief guest and Mr. Ashok Singh Jamwal Divisional Sports Officer Jammu was guest of honor on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion chief guest stressed upon the players to work hard so that our teams can give medal winning performance in nationals. He thanked Secretary J&K Sports Council for extending helping hand to promote hockey in J&K specially amount women. He further thanked her for sponsoring special training camp for women & men players. The match was officiated by Mr. D singh and Joginder Singh senior hockey coaches.
Mr. Ashok Singh Jamwal Divisional Sports Officer Jammu said that J&K Sports Council is committed to promote sports as a whole and hockey our national game in J&K. Both teams played well and men team won match by 2.0 in a closely contested match. Mr. RS Kuku Sr Vice President Hockey J&K presented mementos to Chief Guest and Guest of honor. Dr. Taran Singh General Secretary Hockey J&K while presenting vote of thanks said that J&K Sports Council under the guidance of Secretary J&K Sports Council . He said that J&K needs more play fields for Hockey in the periphery of Jammu and Srinagar cities so that budding talent for Hockey may be taken care of in the beginning . He thanked Sports Council for providing facilities.
Mr. Karanjit Singh member executive, Ishan Sharma were prominent present on the occasion.
