HGS, Jammu Celebrates Annual Sports Day with Great Enthusiasm
Principal Ms. Shakun Choudhary highlighted the importance of fitness, resilience, and the valuable life lessons that sports impart.
Jammu, November 01, 2025: HGS Jammu, celebrated its Annual Sports Day with immense zeal and enthusiasm to showcase the sporting talents of its students.
On this occasion, Ms. Vinakshi Koul (JKAS), Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, Jammu graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Harvinder Kour, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Jammu was the Guest of Honour. They were warmly welcomed by the Principal, Headmaster, teachers and students. Colourful balloons were released on this occasion to spread the message of unity, cooperation and fitness. The lightning of the torch received loud cheers from the spectators and marked the formal commencement of the event. It was followed by a beautiful dance presentation of Saraswati Vandana.
The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were felicitated by the Principal as a token of respect and appreciation.
A magnificent and well-coordinated March Past was conducted by the Council members and NCC cadets, followed by a spectacular display by the School Girls Pipe Band.

She encouraged students to strive for excellence both on and off the field and emphasized the need to maintain good health and adopt healthy practices.
Students eagerly participated in various events such as Bag Pack Race, 400m Race, Aerobics, Hurdle Race, 400m Cyclothon, 800m Race, Rhythmic Yoga, 200m Race, 100m Race, and Relay Race. Each event was filled with excitement, suspense, and celebration as the audience applauded the participants for their dedication, courage, and sportsmanship.
The Chief Guest presented medals and certificates to the winners in recognition of their outstanding performances.
In her address, the Chief Guest emphasized the significance of sports in building strong character and imparting essential life values.
The event concluded with the presentation of a Vote of Thanks, marking the end of a vibrant and inspiring Sports Day celebration.
