Guru Gobind Singh Ji an epitome of valour and sacrifice: Bhardwaj

Bishnah, January 20, 2021: Senior advocate and member All India Congress Committee (AICC), Mr Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that the “Prakash Utsav” of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singhji is an occasion for all to rededicate ourselves to the cherished values of peace, brotherhood, sacrifice for the cause of the nation and the society, and above all the greater need for education at all levels. The Guruji steadfastly stood for these values and inculcated a strong spirit among the people across the society.

Expressing these views here while commemorating the 354th “Prakash Utsav” of Guru Gobind Singhji, he described him as the epitome of sacrifice, valour and intellect who always led by his personal example. His teachings have left a lasting impact not only on the Sikh community but the society as a whole as he always led from the front and by personal example. The supreme personal sacrifices made by Him to safeguard the country and the society are unparalleled in the World.

Mr Bhardwaj, a former president of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, said the Guruji was a great motivator in whatever he preached. His teachings, preachings and writings prove beyond any doubt his high calibre as an intellectual and a teacher. Recounting how Guruji always stood by the poor, underprivileged, oppressed and downtrodden of the society, he asked people to emulate these values which are needed more in the current time of crisis than at any other juncture.

He also described Guru Gobind Singhji as the true inheritor of the concept of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”. ” It was he who recognised the importance and power of a farmer, and it was he who gave a new definition to soldiering as a General who led from the front,” Mr Bhardwaj added.The nation must follow this path as shown by the Guruji and wholeheartedly support the ongoing farmers’.

Earlier, he offered prayers at the Singh Sabha Gurdwara at Khawaspur in Arnia Block. He was also presented a saropa by the organisers of the congregation.

Among those present on the occasion were Sardar Devinder Singh (Pradhan Singh Sabha Gurdwara Khawaspur) Bharat Bhushan Bunty, Sh. Suman Jyoti, Sh. Chander Mohan (Sarpanch), Sardar Surinder Saini, Sardar Manjeet Singh, Sardar Puran Singh, Sardar Kamaljeet Singh, Sardar Tarvinder singh, Sardar Malkeet singh, Sardar Vikramjeet Singh, Sardar surjeet singh and people from different villages of block Arnia.
