GDC Drass, SEBI, MSE, SBI Mutual Fund organize webinar on the theme-investor awareness: a key to financial well being
KARGIL, JULY 09, 2021: Department of Commerce, Government Degree College (GDC) Drass in collaboration with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSE) and SBI Mutual Fund organized a webinar on the theme- investor awareness: a key to financial well being here today.
The webinar was aimed to enlighten the new investors and students who are intending to make investment in securities besides to educate them about the securities market and to make informed decisions.
Ashish Kumar, Deputy General Manager SEBI NRO , Munish Sabharwal, Senior Vice President SBI Mutual Fund, Khwaja Mohiuddin, Assistant President Metropolitan Stock Exchange, Veene Kumari, Assistant General Manager SEBI and Sabzar Ahmad RP, SBI were the webinar speakers.
During the session, Ashish Kumar, Deputy General Manager SEBI NRO made an introduction of SEBI, explained its key modalities, roles and the major works done. He informed the participants about different types of primary and secondary markets in general and public issues in particular, and also enlightened the students about the investment protection measures taken by SEBI besides the dos and don’ts of buying and selling in securities market.
Munish Sabharwal, Senior Vice President SBI Mutual Fund said that it is important for all of us to enjoy financial freedom. He advised the participants to start investing early and asked them to set financial goals before investing, adding he explained the factors which need to be evaluated before investment, and said that one needs to invest in long term equity.
Khwaja Mohiuddin, Assistant President MSE during the session spoke about stock exchange and its role and also enlightened about depositories, clearing corporations, factors effecting the investment, and asked the participants to take into consideration these factors before investment. He also informed the participants about regulation on electronic content note and investor grievance redressal process.
Veene Kumari, Assistant General Manager SEBI appreciated all the speakers for educating the participants about investment in securities.
Earlier, Dr Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal GDC Drass welcomed the speakers and all the participants. He said that awareness of share market is need of the hour and exhorted upon the participants to take maximum benefit from the webinar so that they too become informed investors.
The Principal GDC Drass also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for organizing a webinar like this. He also thanked the speakers for giving time to students in order to make them financially informed.
This webinar was hosted by Shujat Ali Mir, Assistant Professor Commerce and Mustafa Ali, Director Physical Education and Sports, GDC Drass in which more than 100 participants and faculty members participated.
