Former Legislator Ch. Vikram Randhawa calls upon union sports minister
New Delhi, January 29, 2021: Ch. Vikram Randhawa called upon Union sports minister of state for youth affairs and sports (Independent charge and MOS) for Minority affairs Kiran Rijiju for discussing various issues regarding sports activities and infrastructure in J&K.
During the meeting between the two, Randhawa put up about the burning issue of Rehaber-E-Khel appointees in J&K infront of Minister Of State For Youth Affairs And Sports . As Rehaber-E-Khel scheme has turned out to be a nightmare for the youth recruited by the government in the youth service and sports department under the scheme.They raised their voice for a salary increase and express their struggle since last 3 years. MLC said that immediate direction should be given to LG Govt. to resolve their issues as soon as possible so that their trust on the government can be maintained.
In other part of meeting Randhawa took up the issue of NIS volunteer, According to Mr. Randhawa various graduate children were trained up in NIS Patiala under PMDP scheme as coaches and they were to be adjusted at various sports fields as coaches, but grievance is such that they are not appointed as per their qualification. Moreover Jammu sports infrastructure required fresh coaches, but still they are not deployed as such.
Randhawa congratulated and applaud him for taking bold step for the first time in the J&K for promoting and developing sports activities & infrastructure in the UT. For the very first time a winter sports and youth carnival was held zankar area of district Kargil. Which was the first of its kind in the picturesque zanskar valley.
Winter carnival at pahalgam witnesses rush of tourist .The tourist spot reverberated with music art and other colorful activities the event was organized by Department of Tourism And J&K Tourism Development Corporation jointly.A similar 7 days winter cum-christmas carnival held at patnitop.These types of carnival boost tourism in UT which in turn boost up the economic sector of J&K said, Randhawa.
Union Minister gave a very patient hearing during the whole meeting and it will be turn fruitful in coming days as a center is always keen to help out UT in every possible manner and issue which will put up in front table will be resolved as soon as possible, added Randhawa.
