FFMA  pays tributes to Pulwama martyrs

JAMMU, February 14, 2021: Freedom Fighter Memorial Association (FFMA) on Sunday remembered the CRPF personnel martyred in the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019 and extended solidarity with their families.

On February 14 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Forty Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were martyred in the attack.

“Solemnly remembering the CRPF Jawans martyred in Pulwama on this day in 2019 after a terror attack. We salute our brave Jawans and extend our solidarity and condolences to their families. Jai Hind,” Chairman of association Ved Gandotra said.

Vice Chairman of FFMA and SRS J&K President Rajiv Mahajan said, “We strongly oppose Valentine’s Day celebrations. These are anti-Indian culture and, therefore, must be banned in J&K.”

He added, “Also, we lost more than forty of our brave CRPF Jawans in Pulwama terror attack on this day 14 Feb 2019. It would be but an insult to the supreme sacrifice that they made if people celebrate February 14 as Valentine’s Day. It should be observed as ‘martyrs’ day’ instead.”

R C Puri, President FFMA said, “Remembering the CRPF personnel who were martyred during the dastardly attack in Pulwama on this day in 2019. India will never forget their sacrifice. Entire nation stands united against terrorism and we are committed to continue our fight against this terrorism.”

Others who pay tribute to martyrs include Th. Karnail Chand, Pritam Sharma, R.R Raina, Prof. R P Sharma, Gudu, Rita Slathia, Madam Honda, Garu Ram Mangotra, Parbhat Kapahi and others.
