Farooq, Omar condole demise of Gurdeep Singh Sasan

Jammu, May 28, 2021: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Mr Omar Abdullah today expressed deep grief over the passing away of Provincial Vice President Jammu Mr Gurdeep Singh Sasan, describing it as a big loss to the party.

In his condolence message, Dr Farooq Abdullah described Mr Sasan as a seasoned and sober grass-roots level party functionary, who always remained in the forefront to serve the people.

Mr Omar Abdullah said: “Very sorry to have lost another colleague G. S. Sasan ji to this terrible COVID virus. He did a lot of social work alongside his role as an active politician. He helped strengthen the National Conference in his capacity as Provincial Vice President for Jammu province. May his soul rest in peace”.

The President and the Vice President expressed solidarity with the bereaved family at this hour of grief and prayed for strength to them to bear this irreparable loss.

General Secretary Mr Ali Mohammed Sagar and Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana also condoled the demise of Mr Gurdeep Singh Sasan and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.

“In the death of Mr Gurdeep Singh Sasan, National Conference has lost a sincere and hardworking leader, who worked tirelessly to strengthen the party”, Mr Rana said in his message, adding that the departed leader has left an indelible mark as a social worker, as he always served the needy people, especially in the health sector.

Senior leaders including Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia, Mr Rattan Lal Gupta, Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari, Mr Sajjad Kichloo, Mr Javed Rana, Mr Abdul Gani Malik, Babu Rampal, former ministers and legislators besides District and Block Presidents of the party also expressed their grief over the demise of Mr Gurdeep Singh Sasan and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
