EC Tashi flags off exposure tour of progressive farmers to Leh

KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 04, 2021: Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsok Tashi in presence of the Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abbas Razvi flagged off group of 70 women progressive farmers for exposure tour/training visit to Leh at Council Secretariat Kurbathang here today.

The exposure tour has been organised by the Agriculture Department Kargil under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Speaking on the occasion, EC Phunsok Tashi said it is the vision of LG Ladakh R K Mathur that every person should get source of livelihood at the doorsteps, and agriculture sector is one of the promising sector in which our women can excel and achieve heights. He further said that the LAHDC Kargil is always committed to augment the agriculture sector for betterment of the farming community, and maximum funds have been allocated to achieve this goal.

EC Tashi added that this exposure visit will be beneficial for the farmers as after visiting the institutions, their vision related to the sector will get enhanced.

Pertinently, during the course of the visit, the progressive farmers shall visit SKUAST Leh, Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), FRL, departmental farms and will also interact with the progressive farmers of Leh during the 7 day visit.

State Nodal Officer PM Kisan Muhammad Hussain Khan, District Agriculture Extension Officer (DAO) Kargil Muhammad Iqbal, DAO Drass Muhammad Abdullah, Subject Matter Specialist Raziya Banoo, Assistant Agriculture Extension Officer Taisuru Muhammad Kazim,  In charge AEO Muhammad Shah, escorting officers besides progressive women farmers were present on the occasion.
