EC Mohsin Ali reviews pace of progress on works under Agriculture sector

KARGIL, JUNE 08, 2021: Executive Councilor for Agriculture Mohsin Ali took a review meeting of the Department of Agriculture Kargil at Council Secretariat here today.

Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, District Agriculture Officer Inputs Kargil Ashiq Hussain Akhone, District Agriculture Officer Extension, Muhammad Iqbal, State Nodal Officer Agriculture UT Ladakh, Muhammad Hussain Khan besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the Executive Councilor was informed about the departmental activities carried under different schemes/components, particularly the beneficiary oriented schemes, carried out during the year 2021-2022 besides works executed in the year 2020-2021.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Kargil presented some major achievements of the department which included the sanctioning of the Rs 12.50 crores micro irrigation project in Sodh area under SDP, sanctioning of the MODI Scheme worth Rs 250 crores under SDP and 8500 number of vermi compost distributed among the farmers through PRI members.

Moreover, sanctioning of the construction of Agriculture Marketing Centre at Kurbathang, sanctioning of 2 types of Ladakh Green Houses in all constituencies of Kargil with size of 24×60 and 18×32 have been other achievements, the Chief Agriculture Officer said.

The EC Agriculture was also informed during the meeting that 2 High Tech Green Houses under the District Capex Budget and 3High Tech Green Houses under SDP are being constructed at Kurbathang while 3 High Tech  Poly Green Houses are being established at Stara Zanskar.

EC Mohsin Ali while expressed satisfaction over the progress of works directed the concerned officers to conduct training pogrammes for farmers in every area of the district so that they can learn latest technologies in agriculture sector and get maximum returns from the agricultural products.
