Dr. Parshant Bakshi, Faculty of SKUAST-Jammu brings laurel to JK UT and dedicated this recognition to all his students on Teacher’s Day
Jammu, September 04, 2021: Dr. Parshant Bakshi, son of soil and presently working as an Associate Professor, Fruit Science at Advanced Centre for Horticulture Research of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu who attended an “International R&D Course on Postharvest Physiology, Pathology and Handling of Fresh Commodities” at Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Israel in 2012, brings laurel to his institution in general and UT of J&K in particular as his career path as a scientist and his experiences from the course has been published in “Meet the graduate” section of Newsletter No. 4 of The Center for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation – CFTIC & The Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development published online on September 3, 2021 whose link is https://bit.ly/3gRaRuo.
Dr. Bakshi thanked his family, students and friends whose wishes and blessings is the source of strength that motivated him to work with full zeal and dedication. On eve of Teacher day on Septerber 5, 2021 during Corona period he want to extend his blessings to all his students who during online teaching, helped him to develop a new method of teaching by youtube videos and premiered 100 videos which will help the other students to get hands on information on Production technology of fruits, vegetables, flowers and plantation crops. The UG and PG students also appreciated this mode of teaching that can be seen on the comments of these videos. He also created awareness among the fruit growers through YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/parshantbakshi) with various videos on different subjects like high-density planting, rejuvenation of mango and pit preparation, providing practical knowledge and web lectures on fruit production technologies, propagation of fruit plants, the layout of fruit orchard for aspirants, etc. His initiative for virtual tour of students of 4 colleges of Karnataka to SKUAST-J is highly appreciated by the students and staff.
