Distt. presidents of J&K and Ladakh NPP invited to participate in national convention on Feb. 14 & 15 in Jammu

Jammu, January 22, 2021: Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party has urged the office bearers of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh districts to participate in the national convention on February 14 & 15, 2021 at Jammu. The Panthers leadership shall work out an urgent task for reorganization of J&K National Panthers Party recognized in two Union Territories, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Prof.Bhim Singh has personally conveyed to the leadership of JKNPP including the Chairman and the State President to convey this strong message to the district leadership of all the 22 districts of J&K and 4 districts of Ladakh & Kargil.

Prof.Bhim Singh conveyed to the party leadership that the election of the President of J&K state could not be held because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Election Commission was requested for extension till March 23, 2021.

The election of the Chairman of JKNPP at the national level has to be contested on different platforms because the Chairman is elected by the Executive Body of each state where the Panthers Party has been operating. Prof.Bhim Singh also conveyed to the Panthers Party committees all over the country that the Panthers Party is a recognized political party only in J&K whereas Panthers Party continues to be a registered political party in the rest of the country. The Panthers Party has elected Executive Committees in most of the states namely, West Bengal, Bihar, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and other states.

The Chairman of the Panthers Party is elected on the national level for two terms for the rest of the country whereas Jammu and Kashmir elections are held by the state active members for two terms. The J&K and Ladakh have permanent recognized politically, the Panthers Party.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that two terms have been completed by the State President of J&K and the Panthers Party is obliged to elect its President for the next term. Similarly the Chairman has completed two terms as a national chairman and the party is obliged to elect its new Chairman also according to the convention and the Constitution of JKNPP.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that the working committee shall take urgent measures and reasonable decisions on February 14 & 15 when the working committee of the party meets at Jammu.

A committee for the reorganization of the Panthers Party shall be constituted by January 27, 2021 with representation of working committee members from each district of J&K and Ladakh. Prof.Bhim Singh has urged State President, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia to convene a meeting of the working committee of J&K and Ladakh at the earliest so that appropriate follow-on action shall be taken before February 14, 2021. Prof.Bhim Singh also urged the Chairman, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh to take appropriate steps for the reorganization of the national working committee of the Panthers Party from all states which have representation of Panthers Party.

Since J&K is only one state in India which has J&K National Panthers Party with its fully recognized status like other two state political parties namely, J&K National Conference and PDP.

Prof.Bhim Singh has also proposed a committee of senior Panthers Party leaders of J&K to complete party election before March 23, 2021. He has proposed the senior NPP leaders of J&K who will take up the work for the reorganization of the state committee. The proposed leaders include Syed Masood Andrabi, P.K. Ganju, Mohd. Iqbal Chowdhary, B.B. Kotwal, (Vice Presidents), Ms. Anita Thakur, Masood Ahmad Naik, Maqbood Malik, Mrs.Manju Singh (General Secretaries) and Bansi Lal Sharma, Advocate, Advisor-JKNPP. Prof.Bhim Singh requested the state president, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia to convene an urgent meeting of the Secretariat of J&K and announce a final committee which shall look after the party programmes and election process before March 23, 2021.
