DC Kargil inaugurates distribution of vegetable seedlings among farmers
Stresses youth to start entrepreneurship in farming sector
KARGIL MAY 25, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve inaugurated vegetable seedling distribution among farming families at Floriculture Garden near Agriculture Complex Baroo here today.
Around 3 to 4 lakh vegetable seedlings are being distributed among the farming community all over the district within a period of 10 to 15 days by involving Councilors and PRI members to benefit maximum number of farmers in the district.
Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Ashiq Hussain , District Agriculture Officer Extension (DAOE) Muhammad Iqbal, Head Quarter Assistant/Nodal Officer Muhammad Hussain Khan besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve while underlining the status of Kargil as an agricultural economy stressed upon the youth community to come forward and start entrepreneurship in the farming sector. He said that the District Administration Kargil is fully committed to support such entrepreneurship initiatives to boost the local economy by giving opportunities to the local unemployed youth.
The Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil informed the Deputy Commissioner that different seedlings of vegetables including cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, beetroot, swede local, chili, brinjal, capsicum, bottle gourd and cucumber will be distributed among the beneficiaries.
