DC Kargil chairs meeting regarding implementation of Mission Vatsalya
Kargil, January 19, 2023: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting to discuss the inputs on Mission Vatsalya (Child Protection and Welfare Services and Awareness Program) under Juvenile Justice Act , 2015 (new guidelines) in his office chamber Kargil.
Chief Planning Officer (CPO), District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Protection Officer NIC, Protection Officer IC, Legal-Cum-Probationary Officer (LCPO), Accountant District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Member of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) attended the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on the Mission Vatsalya Scheme which is implemented as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme to support States and UTs in universalizing access and improving quality of services in the country.
On the occasion, the DCPO presented a presentation in which various key points of Mission Vatsalya were discussed.
During the meeting, it was decided to form mandatory district-level committee vs district child protection and welfare committee to supervise the activities of DCPU as well as proper implementation of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS).
The Deputy Commissioner directed to prepare DPR of all sanctioned homes for children in conflict with laws and Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP).
The DC also directed for monthly meeting for implementation of Mission Vatsalya Scheme in the district with all converging stakeholders.
Further, it was informed in the meeting that till date, a total of 100 CNCP children got sponsorship by this scheme and five Child Care Institutions (CCIs) are registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 in Kargil.
