DC Kargil chairs District Capex Budget review meeting

Stresses on optimum utilization of funds, completion of developmental works within stipulated timelines

KARGIL, OCTOBER 20, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting of the district officers to review the pace of progress achieved on different works under the District Capex Budget at Conference Hall Baroo here today.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Superintending Engineer PWD Er Tashi Tundup, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Ghulam Muhammad, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Abdul Hadi, Executive Engineers of various sub divisions, officers of Health, Education, Agriculture and allied sectors besides other concerns officers of the engineering and non-engineering sectors attended the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed scheme-wise expenditure status of Minor Irrigation, Flood Control, Housing, Non Functional Buildings (NFB), PHE, Urban Development, R&B, Mechanical, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Forest, Soil Conservation, Cooperatives, DIC, Handloom, Handicrafts, Power, Tourism, KDA, Education, Youth Services and Sports, Degree Colleges, ITI, Health, Information, Labour, Social Welfare, Motor Garages, FCS&CA, MC, ICDS, Wildlife, Information Technology and other departments.

During the course of the meeting, the district officers gave detailed presentations on the physical and financial progress of different works being executed under the District Capex Budget 2021-2022.

The meeting was informed that out of the total approved outlay of Rs 20743 lakhs for the year 2021-2022, Rs 7614.41 lakhs have already been released to the departments and the total expenditure upto the end of September, 2021 stands at Rs 2078.32 lakhs which is 27.29% of the released budget.

It was further informed that Rs 5750.04 lakhs is the anticipated expenditure till ending October, 2021 while the anticipated expenditure till the end of March 2021 will be Rs 20581.89 lakhs.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the district officers to accelerate the pace of works and expedite booking of expenditure. He further said that if any department fails to make expenditure of current budget, their funds in the next year budget will be reduced proportionately.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve stressed for optimum utilization of funds during the current financial year and directed the officers to gear up their manpower and machinery to complete the developmental works within the stipulated timelines. He stressed that the financial rules should be followed in letter and spirit while also ensuring that the works are accelerated to create tangible results on ground.
