COVID-19—Mortality, positivity shows significant fall: J&K reports 04 deaths, 521 positive cases
Two more cases of Mucormycosis confirmed, Case tally at 311,209, death toll mounts to 4,238, active cases decrease to 9,414, recovery rate at 95.61 percent
Srinagar, June 19, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Saturday witnessed four deaths due to Covid-19 while as 521 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 9,414.
With four more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,238 and 521 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 311,209.
Of the exact number of 311,209 cases, 193,054 are from Kashmir division and 118,155 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 521 new cases, 346 belong to Kashmir division while as 175 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 193,054 including 184,823 recoveries and 2,174 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 118,155 including 112,734 recoveries and 2,064 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 9,414 including 6,057 from Kashmir division and 3,357 from Jammu division.
With 1,197 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 297,557 which is 95.61 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 117 from Srinagar, 20 from Baramulla, 44 from Budgam, 33 from Pulwama, 24 from Kupwara, 49 from Anantnag, 22 from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, 18 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 175 from Jammu division include 26 from Jammu, 19 from Udhampur, 17 from Rajouri, 39 from Doda, 16 from Kathua, 14 from Samba, 12 from Kishtwar, 22 from Poonch, 05 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Saturday said that two fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus wete reported in the UT and toll of total cases of Mucormycosis have reached to 24.
Out of 04 deaths reported today, 01 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Rajouri,01 in DH Pulwama & 01 SKIMS Soura.
As per officials figures, 69,012 positive cases including 816 deaths and 66,682 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,973 including 276 deaths and 21,948 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,226 including 21,282 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Budgam, 14,657 including 13,525 recoveries and 186 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,526 including 158 deaths and 12,752 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,766 including 15,052 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,130 cases including 8,725 and 98 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,397 including 9,081 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,838 including 10,373 recoveries and 111 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,529 including 5,403 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,213 including 50,085 recoveries and 1,120 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,072 including 10,792 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,542 including 10,042 recoveries and 213 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,593 including 5,730 recoveries and 104 deaths are from Doda, 9,149 including 8,894 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,036 including 6,782 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,321 including 4,141 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,948 including 5,465 recoveries and 87 deaths are from Poonch, 5,719 including 5,389 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Ramban and 5,562 including 5,414 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,303,895 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,943 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 9,414 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,065,136 persons have completed the surveillance period and 184,164 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,451,574 samples are available. Out of 9,451,574 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,140,365 while as 311,209 have tested positive, among them 9,414 persons are active, 297,557 persons have recovered and 4,238 persons have died—(KNO)
