COVID-19: J&K reports 7 deaths, 498 positive cases
28th case of Mucormycosis confirmed 313,974 death toll mounts to 4,291, active cases decrease to 6,157, recovery rate at 96.67 percent
Srinagar, June 25, 2021: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Friday witnessed 07 deaths due to Covid-19 while 498 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 6,157.
With 07 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,291 and 498 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 313,974
Of the exact number of 313,974 cases, 194,917 are from Kashmir division and 119,057 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 498 new cases, 289 belong to Kashmir division while as 209 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 194,917 including 188,941 recoveries and 2,199 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 119,057 including 114,585 recoveries and 2,092 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,157 including 3,777 from Kashmir division and 2,380 from Jammu division.
With 871 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 303,526 which is 96.67 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 82 from Srinagar, 35 from Baramulla, 31 from Budgam, 13 from Pulwama, 44 from Kupwara, 21 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, 29 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 209 from Jammu division include 10 from Jammu, 09 from Udhampur, 11 from Rajouri, 25 from Doda, 04 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 19 from Kishtwar, 16 from Poonch, 17 from Ramban and 96 from Reasi,” officials disclosed
Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that one fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the total cases of Mucormycosis has reached to 28.
Out of 07 deaths reported today, 02 died in GMC Doda, 01 in GMC Jammu, 01 in DH Kishtwar, 01 in GMC Anantnag, 01 in DH Bandipora & 01 in SMHS Srinagar.
As per officials figures, 69,606 positive cases including 824 deaths and 67,698 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,151 including 278 deaths and 22,393 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,446 including 21,771 recoveries and 202 deaths are from Budgam, 14,790 including 14,267 recoveries and 188 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,693 including 161 deaths and 13,120 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,957 including 15,406 recoveries and 198 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,232 cases including 8,946 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,521 including 9,244 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,976 including 10,630 recoveries and 114 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,545 including 5,466 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,327 including 50,512 recoveries and 1,131 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,126 including 10,888 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,647 including 10,210 recoveries and 217 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,741 including 6,116 recoveries and 112 deaths are from Doda, 9,180 including 8,982 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,051 including 6,865 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,400 including 4,232 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,044 including 5,689 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Poonch, 5,788 including 5,604 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Ramban and 5,753 including 5,487 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,377,154 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 23,384 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,157 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,131,328 persons have completed the surveillance period and 211,996 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,727,679 samples are available. Out of 9,727,679 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,413,705 while as 313,974 have tested positive, among them 6,537 persons are active, 303,526 persons have recovered and 4,291 persons have died—(KNO)
