COVID-19: J&K reports 07 deaths, 428 positive cases

Srinagar reports 104 cases, Case tally at 312,584 death toll mounts to 4,269, active cases decrease to 7,181, recovery rate at 96.33 percent

Srinagar, June 22, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday recorded seven deaths due to Covid-19 while 428 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 7,181.

With 07 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,269 and 428 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 312,584

Of the exact number of 312,584 cases, 194,057 are from Kashmir division and 118,527 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 428 new cases, 280 belong to Kashmir division while as 148 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 194,057 including 187,303 recoveries and 2,192 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 118,527 including 113,831 recoveries and 2,077 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,181 including 4,562 from Kashmir division and 2,619 from Jammu division.

With 999 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 301,134 which is 96,33 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 104 from Srinagar, 25 from Baramulla, 25 from Budgam, 28 from Pulwama, 29 from Kupwara, 15 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 15 from Ganderbal, 23 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 148 from Jammu division include 32 from Jammu, 04 from Udhampur, 29 from Rajouri, 23 from Doda, 06 from Kathua, 04 from Samba, 07 from Kishtwar, 22 from Poonch, 08;from Ramban and 13 from Reasi,” officials disclosed

Meanwhile, authorities on Tuesday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the total cases of Mucormycosis stands at 25.

Out of 07 deaths reported today, 01 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in Home/Brought dead, 02 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in DH Kulgam & 01 in SKIMS Soura.

As per officials figures, 69,331 positive cases including 822 deaths and 67,269 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,050 including 276 deaths and 22,274 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,357 including 21,564 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Budgam, 14,728 including 13,996 recoveries and 188 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,607 including 161 deaths and 12,928 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,860 including 15,267 recoveries and 197 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,185 cases including 8,849 and 99 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,472 including 9,188 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,930 including 10,521 recoveries and 114 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,537 including 5,447 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,275 including 50,324 recoveries and 1,126 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,095 including 10,857 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,594 including 10,126 recoveries and 215 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,668 including 5,903 recoveries and 108 deaths are from Doda, 9,162 including 8,935 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,041 including 6,839 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,349 including 4,183 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,000 including 5,659 recoveries and 87 deaths are from Poonch, 5,751 including 5,556 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Ramban and 5,592 including 5,449 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,335,097 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,435 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,181 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,094,001 persons have completed the surveillance period and 197,211 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,581,172 samples are available. Out of 9,581,172 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,268,588 while as 312,584 have tested positive, among them 7,759 persons are active, 301,134 persons have recovered and 4,269 persons have died—(KNO)
