COVID-19: J&K reports 9 deaths, 599 positive cases; lowest ever since outbreak

One more case of Mucormycosis confirmed; Case tally at 308,011,death toll mounts to 4,195, active cases decrease to 13,532, recovery rate at 94.24 percent

Jammu, June 14, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Monday witnessed 09 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 599 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 13,532. Today’s figures are lowest ever since the outbreak of pandemic this season.

With 09 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,195 and 599 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 308,011

Of the exact number of 308,011 cases, 190,858 are from Kashmir division and 117,153 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 599 new cases, 438 belong to Kashmir division while as 161 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 190,858 including 180,146 recoveries and 2,154 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 117,153 including 110,138 recoveries and 2,041 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 13,532 including 8,558 from Kashmir division and 4,974 from Jammu division.

With 2,139 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 290,284 which is 94.24 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 161 from Srinagar, 38 from Baramulla, 60 from Budgam, 37 from Pulwama, 62 from Kupwara, 33 from Anantnag, 19 from Bandipora, 07 from Ganderbal, 17 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 161 from Jammu division include 22 from Jammu, 13 from Udhampur, 33 from Rajouri, 27 from Doda, 05 from Kathua, 11  from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 15 from Poonch, 08 from Ramban and 17 from Reasi,” officials disclosed

Meanwhile, authorities on Monday said that one fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported and toll of total cases of Mucormycosis has reached to 20.

Out of 09 deaths reported today, 02 died in GMC Doda, 02 in GMC Jammu, 01 in DH Ganderbal, 02 in SKIMS Soura, 01 in DH Pulwama & 01 in GMC Baramulla.

As per officials figures, 68,389 positive cases including 815 deaths and 65,535 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,726 including 273 deaths and 21,408 recoveries are from Baramulla, 21,889 including 20,690 recoveries and 199 deaths are from Budgam, 14,451 including 13,008 recoveries and 181 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,324 including 154 deaths and 12,338 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,555 including 14,476 recoveries and 193 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,008 cases including 8,578 and 98 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,294 including 8,830 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,719  including 1,0057 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,503 including 5,226 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,025 including 49,301 recoveries and 1,117 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,001 including 10,642 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,407  including 9,749 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,404 including 5,396 recoveries and 98 deaths are from Doda, 9,070 including 8,806 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,003 including 6,621 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,252 including 4,065 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,858 including 5,032 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Poonch, 5,612 including 5,201 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Ramban and 5,521 including 5,325 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,244,233 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 59,714 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 13,532 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,015,281 persons have completed surveillance period and 151,511 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,214,386 samples are available. Out of 9,214,386 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,906,375 while as 308,011 have tested positive, among them 13,532 persons are active, 290,284 persons have recovered and 4,195 persons have died—(KNO)
