CEC Kargil takes stock of work progress on cafeteria at TFC

KARGIL, JUNE 16, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan took stock of the pace of progress on the construction of cafeteria at Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC), Kargil here today.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kargil Development Authority (KDA) Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Executive Engineer R&B-II Kacho Mehmood Ali Khan, Executive Engineer Kargil Development Authority (KDA) Sajjad Hussain Wazir besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.

The cafeteria is being developed by the Kargil Development Authority (KDA) an approved cost of Rs 45 lakhs under the District Capex Budget.

CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan while inquiring from the concerned officers about the level of facilities available to the VVIPs, VIPs, visitors and tourists instructed the concerned officers to replace and renovate the TFC main gate with local architecture and design. He further instructed to make the water fountains functional besides also to take measures for maintenance of the green spaces by way of installation of submersible pumps.

Meanwhile, the CEO KDA and other officers informed the CEC that construction of the second storey of the TFC also stands approved under SDP.

The CEC also took stock of the facilities of hygiene, public convenience and open spaces at the TFC premises. He also visited the Ice Hockey Rink Biamathang, Rgyal Khatoon Forest Park and Khree Sultan Cho Stadium Sports Stadium.

Expressing the need for further development of the TFC premises, CEC Khan instructed the CEO, KDA to prepare a detailed DPR in this regard.

To enhance the landscaping of the premises, the CEC instructed the officers concerned to lay green patches on the available area between the TFC building and the Suru river front, adding he also directed to install benches for the visitors.

The CEC said that a VIP guest house is being constructed at the present location of the RTC yard for which funds have already been sanctioned under the SDP. He said that the RTC yard will be relocated to an alternate location for which land will be provided in due course of time.
