CEC Feroz Khan visits Sankoo

Finalizes site for construction of Eklavya Model Residential School at Chechesna

KARGIL MAY 25, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan along with the Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today visited Sankoo to inspect the proposed site for construction of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Chechesna near Karpokhar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tsering Motup, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Executive Engineer R&B II Kacho Mehmood Ali Khan besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC and DC during the tour.

The CEC visited the site proposed for construction of the tribal hostel where the ADC Kargil apprised him about various aspects of the project.

CEC Khan was informed on the occasion that the District Administration Kargil has identified a total of 130 kanals of state land for the project including 70 kanals for construction of school and 60 kanals for the hostels.

It was further given out that work for construction of EMRS has already been allotted to the National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCCL) and the school once completed will impart quality education to ST children of the remote areas to enable them to avail of the opportunities in high and professional educational courses and get employment in various sectors besides also focusing on the all-round development of the students.

The CEC was further informed that the school will have a capacity to accommodate 480 students from Class VI to XII with all facilities like boarding and lodging, study material, separate boys’ and girls’ hostels, playground, staff quarters, guest rooms and other blocks.

CEC Khan while expressing satisfaction on the site allotted for construction of the EMRS in the district gave his on spot approval for establishment of the project.
