CEC Feroz Khan reviews progress on JJM, Grey Water Management Scheme

KARGIL, JULY 20, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Grey Water Management projects at Conference Hall Baroo.
Executive Councillor, Mubarak Shah Nagvi, Executive Councillor Er Phunsuk Tashi, Executive Councillor Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Councillor Nasir Hussain Munshi, Councillor Sheikh Ghulam Mehdi, Councillor Abdul Rahim, Councillor Mohd Ali Chandan, ADC Abdul Ghaffar Zargar, Superintending Engineer, PHE, Er Maqbool, ACD Ghulam Mohammad, CPO, Executive Engineer PHE, Executive Engineer I&FC, SDMs, officials of PHE and RDD attended the meeting.
In view of extending the target for completion of JJM projects, the CEC instructed to continue the execution of works on same pace and speed to complete the projects as soon as possible. He further instructed to maintain work quality and timely execution of projects.
CEC Khan instructed the concerned officials to sensitize the PRI and BDC members to make the JJM projects functional and operational on the ground. It was informed that the PRI members will make functional the JJM projects at village level after completion.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed optimism over the progress being made by the department on JJM projects. He also instructed to ensure quality of work on the ground. He further instructed to keep the PRI members and BDCs on board who will finally execute the projects.
He further instructed to complete the projects village wise instead of leaving incomplete minor works. He instructed to cover all Anganwadi centres, schools, health centers and Public Toilet Complexes with functional tap connection by the target which is August 15.
The Executive Engineer PHE briefed the CEC about status of physical and financial progress on JJM projects in the district. He also briefed about hurdles and issues being faced on the ground in execution of projects.
The Executive Engineer appraised the CEC about water quality testing facilities at village level, district level testing labs, pipes, grievances redressal mechanism and portal.
The Executive Engineer requested the CEC to approve additional DPRs and entry options of same in JJM-IMIS and strengthening and sensitizing of PRI members and VWSC for monitoring and functioning of the projects at their respective village.
The Councilors appraised the CEC and PHE officials about various issues being faced in their respective constituencies.
Reflecting on a request by EC Mohsin, the CEC advised to rationalize the distribution and installation of water hand pumps in the villages. The Executive Engineer assured to do the needful considering intensity of the population.
ACD Ghulam Mohammad gave a detailed presentation on Grey Water Management Projects being executed in the district under MGNREGA. It was informed that a total of 19,431 households are proposed to cover under the scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 7.77 lakh. Material cost of Rs 3 lakh viz fitting of PVC pipe will be provided by the PHE.
