CEC Feroz Khan reviews pace of progress of work on projects, schemes under PWD, RD, Revenue sectors

Kargil, May 27, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the pace of progress on various projects and schemes of PWD, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Revenue under Capex Budget, SDP, Languishing , State/ UT Plan and other Central Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) being implemented in the district.

Executive Councillor for Works Mubarak Shah Nagvi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tsering Motup, Superintending Engineer PWD Er Ved Prakash, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Hadi, Assistant Commissioner Development Ghulam Muhammad, Accounts Officer to DC Kargil, Ajaz Hussain, Executive Engineer PHE Subhash Chander, Executive Engineer I&FC Tsering Dorjay, Executive Engineer REW Gulzar Hussain Munshi Meanwhile, besides other district officers attended the meeting.

Beginning from Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Superintending Engineer Er Ved Prakash gave a detailed presentation on the progress of work on projects being implemented under the scheme. He said that the progress is satisfactory and better than last year.

Executive Engineer PHE presented a detailed status on works being implemented under the AMRUT scheme.

CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan stressed on the concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted and consistent water supply in different areas especially Garkone, Sodh, Gargardo etc. adding he instructed to make the concerned JEs accountable to the Sarpanch in the village. He also suggested to prepare roster in case of the water supply tankers and also to take weekly receipt of the status of water supplied from the concerned Sarpanchs.

As regards to the progress on projects in Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC), the Executive Engineer Tsering Dorjay apprised the meeting about various ongoing and completed projects. He informed that there are 6 projects being developed for flood control in the district, and added that work on the ongoing projects under Capex, SDP and other schemes are going on smoothly without any major hurdle.

Regarding drought, the Executive Engineer I&FC informed that pumps are being procured that will be handed over to the Panchayats on demand basis in various areas of the district. He said that there are 27 areas which have been identified drought prone.

The CEC Kargil instructed that the pumps and installation service must be issued in the month of June to ensure swift measures for drought prevention.

Meanwhile, ACD Kargil Ghulam Muhammad informed the meeting about the status of various ongoing and completed works under the RDD Sector. He said that among other projects construction of BDC Offices, BDO Offices, Panchayat Ghars, installation of solar light system in offices, public utilities, libraries, public parks and public sarais are being constructed in the district.

The CEC instructed the ACD to identify the most suitable locations to install public utility facilities on the basis of the population concentration.

Regarding the construction of libraries, CEC Khan instructed to explore possibilities to construct the libraries in close proximity to educational institutions to ensure their judicious use.
