Khajuria seeks compensation for farmers whose crop and vegetables damage in hailstorm

Jammu, October 23, 2021: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Vice Chairman Wool and Woolen Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), Government of India  Romesh Khajuria on Friday conducted a tour of hailstorm affected villages in Bishnah constituency and demanded compensation from the Government , whose crop and vegetable have been damaged due to the heavy rains/hailstorms.

As the weather situation became inclement, the Khajuria went out to meet farmers who have been affected badly with the massive hailstorm and heavy rains from this morning.

Khajuria visited Rehal Panchayat, Saidgarh, Shahpur, Krail Manhasa, Pandori, Arniai Area, Karyal and met the hailstorm affected farmers.

“The blowing of strong winds, rainfall and hailstorm in Samba has damaged standing crops and vegetables causing massive financial loss to them,” he said.

Interacting with the farmers who lost their crop, Khajuria said that the losses are huge and could have also caused similar damages in other districts of Jammu province.

He, therefore, demanded that the Government should provide appropriate compensation to the farmers so that they can overcome the financial losses they suffered.

“These incidents of crop and vegetable damage should be treated as natural calamities,” he demanded.

The compensation in such matters should not be delayed, he said and demanded that the immediate compensation will provide relief to the farmers.

Mohan Lal, Ashok Kumar, Sonu, Chunni Lal, Sat Pal Dewan Chand and Ashok Kumar among others were also presented on the occasion.
