Bovine Smuggling bid foiled, 29 Cattle Rescued, Five Arrested: Reasi Police

Reasi, June 21, 2021: Reasi Police in a series of raids apprehended five bovines smugglers and rescued 29 cattle while on way to Kashmir. Team of police station Mahore apprehended one bovine smuggler from Bagga area of Mahore namely Mushtaq Ahmed S/O  Juma caste Bakerwal R/O Jijbagli tehsil Thakrakote and rescued 07 bovine animals from the possession of above said person from Zero Morh near Bagga in Tehsil Mahore. In this regard Case FIR no 34/2021 U/S 188 IPC is registered and investigation set in.
Whereas in another attempt of bovines smuggling, team of police station Chassana apprehended two  bovine smugglers along with 4 bovines loaded in two tata mobile load carrier vehicles bearing registration numbers JK20B 0742 & JK12B 6392 from link road of Shikari to Sungri. The two accused arrested are Mohd Imran S/O Mohd Farooq R/O Neosi and Gulzar Ahmed S/O Ahmed din R/O Damni. In this regards FIR no  22/2021 U/S 188 IPC & 3 PC Act stands registered at Police Station Chassana and investigation started.
In another instance of bovines smuggling, police team of special police picket Bathoi apprehended one bovine smugglar namely Abdul Majid S/O Russala R/O Bathoi Tehsil Mahore from Dharkund dhok Bathoi while on way to Kulgam and rescued 10 numbers of bovines  from his possession. On this case Fir no 37/2021 U/S 188/IPC has been registered and investigation set in.
Another bovines smuggling bid foiled in Arnas area, by team of Police Station Arnas by apprehending one bovine smugglers Abrar Ahmed S/O Abdul Hamid R/O Barnelli and rescued 8 numbers of bovines from his possession. In this regard case FIR no. 59/21 U/S 188 IPC 11 PC Act registered at police station Arnas.
On preliminary enquiry, it has been found that bovines were carried from different areas & collected at single point & were to be smuggled across valley through mountain-passes on foot only.
In the current season of nomads movement, 190 cattle are rescued in 24 case FIR’s registered against bovines smuggling in which 34 accused has been arrested since April 2021.
