BJP Leader Puneet Mahajan Visits K.D. Hospital in Jammu
Jammu, June 24, 2020: Puneet Mahajan, the convener of the BJP Health and Medical Cell in Jammu and Kashmir, visited K.D. Hospital in Jammu today. Mahajan’s visit was to facilitate the transfer of a newborn premature baby from SMGS Hospital to K.D. Hospital due to the immediate need for NICU services, which were unavailable at SMGS Hospital.
The transfer was carried out under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, ensuring the baby received necessary medical care free of cost. Mahajan took the initiative to coordinate with Dr. Sumit Sharma, the CEO of K.D. Hospital, urging the hospital administration to provide the highest standard of care for the infant.
During the visit, Dr. Sharma highlighted the hospital’s achievements under the PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat Sehat Scheme), noting that hundreds of surgeries have been successfully performed at no cost to patients, thanks to the initiative led by the Narendra Modi government.
Accompanying Mahajan were Bharat Bhushan Padha and Verinder Sambyal, co-conveners of the BJP Health and Medical Cell, who collectively emphasized their commitment to improving healthcare access and quality for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
