Batwal Association seeks Economic-cum-Employment Package, representation in Recruitment Boards
JAMMU, July 21, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association held its meeting at Village Garhi which was chaired by Shri Kamal Singh Kaith and attended by all executive members. The meeting deliberated on various issues confronting the Batwal community. Association members raised demands for representation in Recruitment Boards at district levels and an Economic-cum-Employment Package based on the ethnographic study of Batwal community undertaken in 1994 by the Central Planning Commission at the behest of the then Prime Minister.
Association President Sub. Major Romesh Sargotra (Retd) stressed on the need of unity among the community members while Dr Ramesh Kumar Kaith stressed on spread of literacy in the community.
Besides, the Association members passed a Resolution to launch membership derive from coming Sunday onwards in the entire Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Earlier, the Association members paid tributes to community members who lost their lives due to corona virus.
Association Election Commissioner R.L.Kaith urged the community members to say ‘No’ to 3rd Covid Wave by masking up, avoiding unnecessary travel in crowded areas and getting vaccinated against Covid virus.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Ex Naib Sarpanch Ram Lal Lakhotra, Hony Captain Kamal Chand Motan, Ex Sub. Maor. Gunni Ram Kaith, Ex Hav. Des Raj Kaith, Ex Hav. Gandherb Motan, Ex Hav. Uttam Chand Sandhu, Master Raghubir Lal Lakhotra, Tilak Raj Bassa, Gurdas Chand Sargotra, Birendra kaith, Mahesh Bhardwaj, Diley Ram Kaith, Bua Ditta Kaith, Garu Ram Sandhu, Baljeet Kaith and Rashpal Lakhotra.
