Awantipora Police arrests extortionist with toy Pistol
Jammu, February 16, 2021: Police in Awantipora have arrested an extortionist with toy pistol and 04 rounds of SLR from his possession near village Barsoo, Awantipora on National Highway.
In the jurisdiction of Police Station Awantipora, one person who was trying to extort money from a person near village Barsoo, Awantipora was arrested by Police. He has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh resident of Dalwach Beerwah, Budgam.
During checking, officers were able to recover 01 toy Pistol, 01 Knife and 04 SLR-rounds from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 23/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora. Further any connection of the arrested person with terrorists for possessing 04 rounds of SLR is being investigated.
