ARCS Ladakh issues Certificate of Registration under Cooperative Societies Act 1989 and 1999 among 86 registered societies

KARGIL, JULY 24, 2021: Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies (ARCS) Ladakh Dr Muhammad Raza Abbasi today issued Certificate of Registration under Cooperative Societies Act 1989 and 1999 among 86 registered societies after the formation of UT Ladakh.

The ARCS Ladakh said that the certificates have been issued under the Cooperative Societies Act, 1989 and Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999 after reorganization of the erstwhile J&K State into UT of Ladakh and UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

The ARCS said that after the formation of Ladakh UT, the Cooperative Department has registered 79 societies including 47 from Kargil and 32 from Leh district under the Cooperative Societies Act 1989 who have also been issued registration certificates. He further said that under Self Reliant Act, 1999, 4 societies in Leh and 3 societies in Kargil have also been registered and provided with registration certificates.

Dr Raza Abbasi hailed the efforts of the Secretary Cooperatives Ladakh Ravinder Kumar in expediting the registration process and added that with the issuance of registration certificates, the societies will now be eligible to take benefit of government schemes.

Dr Raza Abbasi expressed hope that the department will see a great deal of change in coming days, and concrete measures are being taken to achieve the targets.
