All restaurants, bars and hotelier’s deputation call on Manjit Singh

Seeks permission to dine in services on all 7 days

Jammu, June 25, 2021: A deputation of restaurants, bars and hotel owners today called on Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh and appraised him about their demands.

In a statement to the press, the deputation led by Kannav Khajuria, secretary Jammu Restaurant, Banquets, Bars and Hotels Association met the Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh.

The deputation demanded that the authorities should allow dine in services at restaurants, hotels, and bars till 10 PM on all seven days in Jammu and exemption from restrictions.

They said that over 200 business establishments employing over 5000 people directly and indirectly in Jammu have been facing the burn of pandemic from last year as they remained shut for more than 8 months as per the directions of the Government of J&K and for now, more than 2 months have passed again, this year.

“The continuous closing of the business has unemployed thousands of people who were dependent on this industry for their livelihood and survival of their families,” they appraised.

They said that the tourism industry has received a huge blow.

“We are best equipped to follow all covid19 related SOPs and norms including social distancing compliant seating, 50% operational capacity etc.,” they said.

Seeking a review to the decision, the Secretary of all the restaurants, banquets, bars and hotels of Jammu demanded permission to allow re-opening of their business establishments till 10 PM on all seven days of the week for the survival of the industry and to prevent mass unemployment in these difficult times.

After hearing their grievances, Manjit Singh assured them that their demands would be projected before the authorities for their early redressal.
