AJKPC presidents kick-starts blacktopping work on Jindrah-Challar road
Jammu, April 9, 2021: The UT President of All Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) and Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Jindrah, Anil Sharma on Thursday kick-started blacktopping work of 10-km-long Jindrah-Challar road constructed under PMGSY.
The estimated cost of the work is Rs 1.09 lakh and it would provide much-needed relief to dozens of villages, including Khara, Nakki, Chringal, Karal, Nagola, Chak Bhagani and Jib, being connected through this road.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma expressed his sincere gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha, Chief Engineer PMGSY, Jammu, Manzoor Hussain and Executive Engineer PMGSY, Jammu Rampal Gupta for extending full cooperation and fulfilling the long pending demands of dozens of villages.
The AJKPC leader said the road was constructed six years back and it had been in bad shape since the last four years. “There was a long pending of local people who had been suffering badly due to the dilapidated condition of the road. The total cost of the project is Rs 1.09 crore out of which nearly Rs 70 lakh would be spent on blacktopping while the remaining amount would be expended on protection work, retaining walls and drainage system,” Sharma said.
He expressed his happiness over the cooperation extended by the officers of PMGSY wing on the directions of Lieutenant Governor.
