Acting CEC Aga Abbas Razvi takes stock of the status of ongoing NH-301 works
Directs to ensure quality works on the highway
KARGIL, NOVEMBER 16, 2021: Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Abbas Razvi took stock of the status of ongoing works on the Kargil Zanskar National Highway NH-301 during his visit to the TSG Block and Suru area here today.
The Acting CEC also visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo where he inspected the central heating system and went round various wards and sections of the health centre.
Tehsildar Tai Suru Sajjad Hussain, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Muhammad Hassan, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Shabir Hussain, General Manager NHIDCL A K Shiv Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Sankoo Asgar Ali besides other concerned officers of various departments accompanied the Acting CEC during the tour.
While inquiring about the on-going works on NH-301 from Ashina to Thangbu Purtikhchey, the Acting CEC inspected the progress of the blacktopping, construction of parapets and culverts besides other allied works.
Acting CEC Razvi directed that quality and quantity parameters of the works must be ensured particularly regarding the black topping works. He also directed to construct the parapets along the highway while keeping the construction works continuing.
At Karpokhar, the Acting CEC directed to complete the culvert works at the earliest possible and stressed to repair the road while ensuring safety parameters considering the upcoming winters.
The EC works also stressed to complete soling works at the earliest possible so as to avoid muddy roads during the upcoming spring time and further directed to take measures not to affect the irrigation khuls along the national highway during the road construction works.
Aga Syed Abbas Razvi also held a meeting with the concerned officers at Sankoo where he suggested the NHIDCL to engage casual labourers of Suru Valley Division for soil sprinkling works on the Kargil Zanskar Road in winters to avoid slippery road conditions so as to ensure smooth passage of vehicles.
The EC was informed that an agreement between NHIDCL and Mechanical Division Kargil regarding the free flow of traffic on the highway in winters is in consideration.
Later, the Acting CEC also visited CHC Sankoo where he interacted with the patients and attendants and inquired from them about the healthcare services being provided at the health centre. He also visited various wards and sections of the hospital including the central heating system plant and the oxygen plant.
The Acting CEC was informed that the hospital requires a separate electric feeder for central heating system and other services. He assured that necessary measures will be taken to address the issue and directed the concerned agencies to complete the oxygen plant site within the stipulated timelines.
