Kidnapped woman recovered; accused arrested at Airport: Reasi Police
Reasi, June 22, 2021: Police Station Reasi on 31.05.2021 received a written complaint from Mohd Riaz stating that his wife (name withheld) is kidnapped by Mohd Asif S/O Mohd Salim resident of Panasa, Reasi.
Acting promptly upon the complaint a case FIR no 123/2021 U/S 366 IPC was registered in police station Reasi and search of woman was launched in Reasi & other possible areas. All sources of police were activated.
Statements of family members of the woman were also recorded in the investigation.
After developing information from available clues regarding their presence in Ludhiana area of Punjab, SSP Reasi Sh Shailender Singh constituted a special team headed by one officer of Sub Inspector rank for recovery of the lady.
Police team left for Ludhiana during first week of this month but couldn’t zero upon the target due to hurdles of lock down & pandemic conditions.
With continuous efforts of Reasi Police, today on 22nd of June, team of police station Reasi successfully zeroed upon the target regarding the presence of accused along with kidnapped woman in Jammu.
Utilizing all available means with strenuous efforts, investigating team arrested the accused from Jammu airport and recovered the woman from his custody.
After fulfilling the medico-legal formalities of the recovered woman, further investigation of the case is in progress.
Family members of the recovered woman expressed gratitude for strenuous efforts put forth by Reasi police in rescuing the lady.
