COVID-19: J&K reports 9 deaths, 656 positive cases
Sgr records lowest ever positive cases at 112, One more case of Mucormycosis confirmed, Case tally at 310,017, death toll mounts to 4,226, active cases decrease to 10,602, recovery rate at 95.21 percent
Jammu, June 17, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Thursday witnessed 09 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 656 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 10,602.
With nine more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,226 and 656 fresh positive cases reported on Thursday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 310,017
Of the exact number of 310,017 cases, 192,263 are from Kashmir division and 117,754 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 656 new cases, 466 belong to Kashmir division while as 190 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 192,263 including 183,362 recoveries and 2,168 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 117,754 including 111,827 recoveries and 2,058 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 10,602 including 6,733 from Kashmir division and 3,869 from Jammu division.
With 1,426 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 295,189 which is 95.21 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 112 from Srinagar, 42 from Baramulla, 94 from Budgam, 54 from Pulwama, 45 from Kupwara, 53 from Anantnag, 17 from Bandipora, 25 from Ganderbal, 18 from Kulgam and 06 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 190 from Jammu division include 33 from Jammu, 06 from Udhampur, 26 from Rajouri, 41 from Doda, 20 from Kathua, 09 from Samba, 09 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 26 from Ramban and 16 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Srinagar recorded 112 positive cases, lowest ever since second wave. Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asad tweeted: “112 Cases in Srinagar today. Lowest since outbreak of second wave. Let’s not forget Virus surges from the lower numbers only. Vaccination holds key. Adherence to SOPs is non-negotiable”
Meanwhile, authorities on Thursday said that one fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and toll of total cases of Mucormycosis reached at 22.
Out of 09 deaths reported today, 01 died in GMC Doda, 03 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in DH Pulwama, 02 in SMHS Srinagar, 01 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in SDH Tangmarg and 01 in CHC Tangdar
As per officials figures, 68,762 positive cases including 815 deaths and 66,306 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,887 including 276 deaths and 21,793 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,122 including 21,079 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Budgam, 14,590 including 13,408 recoveries and 185 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,460 including 157 deaths and 12,635 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,693 including 14,872 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,075 cases including 8,640 and 98 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,361 including 9,011 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,791 including 10,262 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,522 including 5,356 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,124 including 49,820 recoveries and 1,118 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,042 including 10,710 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,501 including 9,964 recoveries and 212 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,508 including 5,602 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Doda, 9,121 including 8,868 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,020 including 6,727 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,289 including 4,120 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,910 including 5,376 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Poonch, 5,678 including 5,270 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Ramban and 5,551 including 5,370 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,280,608 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 47,792 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 10,602 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,044,000 persons have completed surveillance period and 173,988 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,354,739 samples are available. Out of 9,354,739 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,044,722 while as 310,017 have tested positive, among them 10,602 persons are active, 295,189 persons have recovered and 4,226 persons have died—(KNO)
