UT reports lowest positive cases since last two months ; Case tally at 301,467,death toll mounts to 4,090, active cases increase to 23,514, recovery rate at 90.84 percent
Srinagar, June 07, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Monday witnessed 16 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 977 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 23,524
With 16 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,090 and 977 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 301,467
Of the exact number of 301,467 cases, 186,290 are from Kashmir division and 115,177 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 977 new cases, 689 belong to Kashmir division while as 288 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 186,290 including 169,387 recoveries and 2,102 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 115,177 including 104,466 recoveries and 1,988 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 23,524 including 14,801 from Kashmir division and 8,723 from Jammu division.
With 4,178 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 273,853 which is 90.84 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 161 from Srinagar, 44 from Baramulla, 103 from Budgam, 95 from Pulwama, 107 from Kupwara, 66 from Anantnag, 35 from Bandipora, 42 from Ganderbal, 28 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 288 from Jammu division include 100 from Jammu, 34 from Udhampur, 29 from Rajouri, 36 from Doda, 07 from Kathua, 18 from Samba, 17 from Kishtwar, 12 from Poonch, 22 from Ramban and 13 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Pertinently, J&K lowest ever positive cases since last two months.
Out of 16 deaths reported today, 03 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in MH Satwari, 02 in DH Kishtwar, 01 in CH Udhampur, 02 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 04 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in CD Hosp Sgr & 01 in GMC Anantnag.
As per officials figures, 67,066 positive cases including 799 deaths and 63,311 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,235 including 268 deaths and 19,918 recoveries are from Baramulla, 21,260 including 19,609 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Budgam, 14,005 including 12,257 recoveries and 176 deaths are from Pulwama, 12,840 including 149 deaths and 11,489 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,160 including 12,918 recoveries and 183 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,769 cases including 8,038 and 97 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,103 including 8,292 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,415 including 9,017 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,437 including 4,538 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 51,656 including 46,848 recoveries and 1,100 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,851 including 10,318 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,137 including 9,145 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,085 including 4,973 recoveries and 93 deaths are from Doda, 8,965 including 8,599 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Kathua, 6,902 including 6,338 recoveries and 114 deaths are from Samba, 4,157 including 3,892 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,620 including 4,515 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Poonch, 5,415 including 4,675 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Ramban and 5,389 including 4,675 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,168,272 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 80,348 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 23,524 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,914,130 persons have completed the surveillance period and 146,180 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,887,902 samples are available. Out of 8,887,902 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,586,435 while as 301,467 have tested positive, among them 23,524 persons are active, 273,853 persons have recovered and 4,090 persons have died—(KNO)
