Forces destroy hand grenade in Rajouri village, Two pistols, 11 bullets recovered in Poonch village
Rajouri, May 18, 2021: Army and police on Tuesday evening destroyed a hand grenade that was found lying in Panj Nara village of Rajouri district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the rusted hand grenade was destroyed on the site by bomb disposal squad of a local army unit with the assistance police from Kandi police station.
The official said that grenade was found lying in bushes following which village elders informed the authorities and joint teams of army and police rushed to the spot.
Meanwhile two pistols and eleven bullets were recovered during an operation in Mahra village of Surankote in Poonch district on Tuesday, officials said here.
Officials said that an operation was launched jointly by army and police during which arms and ammunition were found kept hidden in the area.
They said that apparently the arms and ammunition were kept in the area in the past years—(KNO)
