ECI urged to take action against UHM using offensive & unconstitutional words against recognized J&K parties
Gupkar Gang
Jammu, November 21, 2020: 103rd birthday anniversary of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the first woman Prime Minister of India was celebrated by several senior leaders of the Panthers Party and other political parties. The efforts of Mrs. Gandhi to take the country to the heights of international fame and her revolutionary changes in administration were appreciated by the gatherings.
Addressing the celebration get-together in Jammu, Prof. Bhim Singh described Mrs. Indira Gandhi as a revolutionary and progressive leader of India. He said that she managed the hostile J&K leadership including Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah by holding free and fair elections in J&K, which brought Sheikh Abdullah in majority. Prof. Bhim Singh said that it was the first opportunity for him to become a Congress Legislator in J&K in the election of 1977.
Prof.Bhim Singh said that he was infuriated by the language which was used on November 19, 2020 by the Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah against the followers of Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah. He challenged the statement of the Union Home Minister calling a group of two recognized political parties namely, National Conference & Peoples Democratic Party as the gangsters. He said that Mrs. Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India when she visited Kashmir and persuaded Sheikh Abdullah to go for election to restore democracy in J&K. Prof.Bhim Singh said that two recognized political parties of J&K who formed a joint front have been described ‘Gupkar Gang’ by a Union Minister who is no less than Shri Amit Shah. He expressed shock on such offensive words used by the Home Minister of India. Describing two recognized political parties as ‘Gupkar Gang’ is in utter violation of the Election Rules as well as the Constitution of India. He urged the Election Commission of India to initiate legal proceedings against the Union Home Minister for using such an unparliamentary and criminal language against the recognized political parties.
While addressing Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s birthday celebration, Prof.Bhim Singh also said that the present Home Minister and the Ruler in New Delhi should take the lesson from the administrative skill and the language which Mrs. Indira Gandhi had used even at the most difficult times. He reminded today’s leaders to read the language and words which all the prime ministers of India from Pt. Nehru to Mr. Vajpayee and Dr. Manmohan Singh have used even against their die-hard opponents in the Parliament or outside.
Prof.Bhim Singh urged the Union Home Minister to withdraw his words ‘Gupkar Gang’ and ask for forgiveness and requested the media to delete such offensive words in future. It is not the media’s business to raise the passions of an already troubled Nation. Media should not do the job of raising the passions of hatred to hurt the Nation.
