This sacred musical congregation was a collaborative effort, jointly presented by the Relief Organisation, the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, and Vomedh, forming an integral part of the revered annual Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela festivities.
The devotional proceedings commenced with an enthralling presentation of “Henzey,” a traditional musical narrative, soulfully rendered by the artists of Vomedh Rangmanch. This powerful opening, as noted in a statement by Suman Bhat, Publicity Secretary for Vomedh, masterfully set a deeply spiritual ambiance for the evening, preparing the hearts of attendees for an immersive experience.
Following this, a cascade of melodious bhajans and traditional Kashmiri devotional songs followed, with renowned artists Shanti Lal Sidh, Pallavi Koul, Nirmala Koul, and Rajesh Khar weaving a rich tapestry of sound that deeply moved the assembled devotees. Their heartfelt renditions, echoing through the serene, Chinar-shaded temple complex, amplified the sanctity of the Jyeshtha Ashtami celebrations, a time when the goddess is particularly venerated with offerings of kheer and prayers at the sacred spring.
