Rohan Sharma Receives Prestigious Young Artist Scholarship
Jammu, May 21, 2025: Emerging theatre artist Rohan Sharma has been awarded the Young Artist Scholarship 2022–23, a prestigious recognition by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The results were officially declared today, bringing great pride to the theatre fraternity of Jammu.
Rohan began his journey in the world of theatre under the guidance of veteran theatre director Ravinder Sharma, Director of Samooh Theatre, with the classic play Hamlet. Since then, he has been a consistent and dedicated performer in various acclaimed productions including Andha Yug, Oedipus Rex, The Tempest, Bawa Jitmal, and many more – all directed by his mentor Ravinder Sharma.
His commitment to the craft has been reflected in his active participation at various theatre competitions and youth festivals. Rohan has performed at the university level, North Zonal Youth Festivals, and at the National Level, consistently winning accolades for his performances.
Rohan’s achievement marks not just a personal milestone but also adds to the growing list of young talent nurtured by Samooh Theatre. His success is a testament to the rigorous training, artistic discipline, and creative excellence imparted by his guru and the institution.
