M.K. Yogi Urges Kashmiri Pandit Unity, Calls for Amicable Resolution of Hariparvat Temple Dispute

KP Leader Calls for Transparency, Accountability, and Independent Inquiry into Hariparvat Temple Controversy

Jammu, April 04, 2025: Following recent events at the Hariparvat Temple and the subsequent social media controversy, senior Kashmiri Pandit leader Shri M.K. Yogi has issued a fervent appeal for community unity and an amicable resolution to the ongoing dispute. Expressing deep concern over the negative impact of these events on the community’s reputation, Yogi called for a swift resolution through dialogue and compromise, rather than continued public disagreement.

In a press statement, Yogi urged all stakeholders within the Hariparvat Temple committee to prioritize a constructive approach, emphasizing that further public conflict will only further damage the community’s image. This sentiment has been echoed by numerous prominent Kashmiri Pandit leaders and organizations, who have also appealed for a unified effort to resolve the matter internally.

Yogi stressed the importance of transparency and accountability within the Hariparvat Trust’s management. He proposed the publication of quarterly financial reports, detailing income and expenditure, to ensure community oversight and address concerns about financial mismanagement.

Referring to a previous meeting on the Hariparvat issue, Yogi reiterated his call for the current President of the Hariparvat Trust to step aside, given the allegations against him. He advocated for the formation of an independent enquiry committee to investigate these allegations impartially. As an interim measure, he suggested that the management of other prominent Kashmiri temples be entrusted with the caretaking of the Hariparvat Temple until the enquiry is complete. This, he believes, would ensure the smooth and transparent operation of the temple during this period of uncertainty.

The appeal for unity underscores the widespread concern amongst Kashmiri Pandit leadership regarding the damaging effects of internal divisions and the crucial need for a collaborative approach to resolving internal conflicts. The ongoing situation at the Hariparvat Temple serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving community harmony and a strong, unified public image.
