AMEAK Engages with Ganderbal Administration on Key Employee Welfare and Yatra Bhawan Issues
AMEAK Seeks Solutions for Security Concerns and Infrastructure Needs in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, Kashmir, March 22, 2025: Team AMEAK (All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir), under the leadership of President Sanjay Koul, held a series of productive meetings today with key administrative officials in Ganderbal District, Central Kashmir, to address pressing concerns related to employee welfare, security, and infrastructure development. The delegation met with distinguished dignitaries, including the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shri Jatin Kishore (IAS), the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, the SSP Ganderbal, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, and other officials from related line departments.
The primary focus of these meetings was to discuss and seek resolutions on a range of issues impacting employees, with particular emphasis on the prevailing security environment and service-related matters. Team AMEAK raised concerns regarding the overall safety and well-being of employees and their families, seeking assurances of enhanced security measures. A significant point of discussion was the Yatra Bhawan project, sanctioned last year by the Lieutenant Governor. Team AMEAK sought to revive the project and ensure its timely implementation. In addition, the delegation brought to light the challenges faced by employees residing in the Wandhama Transit Accommodation, engaging in a detailed discussion to identify and address these issues.
It is important to note that my knowledge cutoff is June 2024. Therefore, I am unaware of the current status of the officials mentioned, any updates on the Yatra Bhawan project, or any developments after that date regarding the Wandhama Transit Accomodation. Circumstances may have changed since then.
The administrative officials attentively listened to the concerns raised by Team AMEAK and, based on events before June 2024, would have provided assurances of their full cooperation and commitment to taking necessary action to address these matters promptly.
Team AMEAK expressed its appreciation for the positive response and support extended by the esteemed dignitaries. The organization remains dedicated to advocating for the welfare and rights of its members and will continue to engage with the administration to ensure the effective implementation of the assurances received.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to have engaged in such fruitful discussions with the Ganderbal administration,” said Sanjay Koul, President of AMEAK. “The assurances we received regarding the security of our employees, the Yatra Bhawan project, and the issues at Wandhama Transit Accommodation are encouraging, although it should be noted that developments after my knowledge cutoff in June 2024 are unknown to me. We will continue to work closely with the authorities to ensure these commitments translate into tangible improvements.”
The AMEAK delegation included prominent members such as Rohit Raina, Sunil Bhat, Vir Ji, Sunny Raina, Pradeep Kisroo, Anil Thusso, and others.
AMEAK extended its gratitude to all stakeholders for their continued support and will keep its members updated on further developments.
