BJP Leader Urges Kashmiris to Reject “Traditional Regional Parties” in Lok Sabha Elections
Decades of Empty Promises: BJP Leader Javid Kakroo Challenges Track Record of Traditional Parties
Srinagar, May 08, 2024: Senior BJP leader Javid Kakroo has called upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to reflect on the past seventy years of governance under traditional Kashmiri political parties and consider their impact on the region’s welfare. In a statement, Kakroo urged voters to reject these parties in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and elect representatives who will genuinely advocate for their interests.
“For seventy years, parties like the Congress, National Conference, and PDP have ruled Kashmir, yet they have prioritized their own families and associates over the welfare of the people,” Kakroo asserted. “Their reign has brought misfortune, poverty, and chaos to the region.”
He highlighted the BJP’s role in removing Article 370, a move he claims was necessary to bring development and transparency to Kashmir, aligning it with the rest of the nation. “The tremendous progress witnessed since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 is a testament to the BJP’s commitment to the region’s holistic development, free from bias,” Kakroo added.
He further challenged the traditional parties’ unfulfilled promises, questioning the progress on slogans like National Conference’s Autonomy, PDP’s Self Rule, and Congress’s Gareebi Hatao. “These parties have repeatedly made empty promises during elections, only to abandon them after securing power,” he stated.
Kakroo encouraged voters to consider the current developmental landscape and governance before casting their ballots. He urged them to support a party that can deliver tangible benefits and align Kashmir with the progress of a developing India, rather than clinging to outdated rhetoric.
Expressing optimism for the future, Kakroo stated, “The BJP aims to elevate Kashmir to the level of international tourist destinations in its next term. The people who are already experiencing the positive impacts of good governance will witness a new era of prosperity and development under the BJP’s leadership.”
Kakroo emphasized that while the BJP is not contesting elections in the Kashmir Division, it presents an opportunity for the people to reject the established regional political entities and embrace a new path towards progress and prosperity.
