MK Yogi Appeals for Permanent Representation of Kashmiri Pandits in Amarnath Shrine Board
Jammu, April 06, 2024: M.K. Yogi, a senior Kashmiri Pandit leader and former two-time President of PSM Martand Tirath Improvement Charitable Trust Mattan, has appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to nominate permanent members for Shri Amarnath Shrine Board from the Kashmiri Pandit community.
In a statement issued here today, Yogi advocated for the inclusion of permanent members from the Kashmiri Pandit community in the Amarnath Shrine Board. He stated that the Amarnath Shrine, revered as a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site, draws lakhs of devotees annually from various parts of India and abroad to partake in religious rituals and witness the ice Shiv Lingam, symbolizing Lord Shiva, the creator of the universe for thousands of years.
Yogi said that Kashmiri Pandits are devout followers of Lord Shiva and the Amar Nath Ji holy cave and have historically been actively involved in the Amar Nath Yatra, contributing significantly to the Pooja Archana rituals during the pilgrimage period.
Yogi emphasized the pivotal role played by Kashmiri Pandits in the yatra and urged for their continuous participation, emphasizing the importance of their representation in the Amarnath Shrine Board.
Yogi called for the involvement of Kashmiri Pandits in the Pooja Archana ceremonies during the Amarnath Yatra. He stressed the significance of including young volunteers from the community to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
He highlighted the need for employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth among Kashmiri Pandits within the Amarnath Shrine Board, underscoring the importance of their active engagement in the management and execution of the yatra proceedings.
