BJP Health & Medical Cell organises Ayushman Bharat Camp
Jammu, September 22, 2023: BJP Health and Medical Cell organised Ayushman Bharat Camp for the staff and workers of Jay Kay Coir Foam Limited , Jammu. The camp was inaugurated by BJP J&K (UT) Convener Health and Medical Cell Puneet Mahajan alongwith Coconveners Dr Rajinder Gupta and Bharat Bhushan Padha , while speaking Puneet Mahajan said that Ayushman scheme launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has proved to be a game changer for India’s healthcare system as every poor person can now get treatment at the best hospital across the country.
Puneet Mahajan said The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is a comprehensive nationwide healthcare initiative that aims to provide saturation coverage of healthcare services, reaching every village and town in the country. This groundbreaking initiative builds upon the success of the Ayushman Bharat program and signifies a paradigm shift in healthcare services.
The campaign, which will be implemented during the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday from September 17th to October 2nd, 2023, embodies a whole-of-nation and whole-of-society approach. It unites government sectors, civil society organizations and communities under a common mission to ensure that every individual receives essential health services without any disparity or exclusion. Its core objective is to extend comprehensive healthcare coverage to every village and town, transcending geographical barriers and ensuring that no one is left behind.
More than 100 people were registered for the Modi Government’s flagship scheme. Puneet Mahajan said under this Universal Health Coverage, the beneficiaries shall be entitled to free health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year on floater basis and there is no restriction on family size, age or gender. All pre-existing illnesses shall also be covered besides and cashless services shall also be available in all the empanelled hospitals, he added. Puneet Mahajan said that lakhs of beneficiaries have got themselves registered under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Ayushman Bharat and are seeking its benefits. He added that people who until were left to fend for themselves have been provided with health insurance coverage of Rs five lakh per family annually.
He added that the scheme provides cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiaries at the point of service in any empanelled hospitals, both in public and private sector, across the country. The senior BJP leader said treatment for oncology, cardiology and nephrology related illness will be covered from day one including high-end diagnostic procedures during hospitalization. The beneficiaries shall also be eligible for coverage of 3 days pre-hospitalization and 15 days post hospitalization expenses, he added.
