COVID-19: J&K reports two deaths; 168 fresh cases

Jammu, November 17, 2021: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday witnessed two deaths and 168 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,513.

With two more deaths, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,457 and 168 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 334,600.

Of the exact number of 334,600 cases, 209,925 are from Kashmir division and 124,675 from Jammu division. Officials said that among 168 new cases, 141 belong to Kashmir division while as 27 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 209,925 including 206,380 recoveries and 2,276 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 124,675 including 122,250 recoveries and 2,181 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,513 including 1,269 from Kashmir division and 244 from Jammu division.

With 197 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 328,638 which is 98.21 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 71 from Srinagar, 29 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 07 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 10 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 27 from Jammu division include 13 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 03 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Wednesday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 49.

As per officials figures, 76,531 positive cases including 858 deaths and 74,089 recoveries are from Srinagar, 24,981 including 285 deaths and 24,426 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,023 including 23,701 recoveries and 209 deaths are from Budgam, 15,546 including 15,327 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,593 including 166 deaths and 14,349 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,637 including 16,420 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,908 cases including 9,738 and 104 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,598 including 10,405 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,499 including 11,375 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,609 including 5,550 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 53,472 including 52,221 recoveries and 1,149 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,428 including 11,283 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,295 including 11,046 recoveries and 238 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,902 including 7,748 recoveries and 133 deaths are from Doda, 9,340 including 9,184 recoveries and 152 deaths are from Kathua, 7,162 including 7,032 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,821 including 4,776 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,507 including 6,393 recoveries and 98 deaths are from Poonch, 6,054 including 5,980 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,694 including 6,587 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 4,115,399 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 5,568 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,513 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 3,668,242 persons have completed the surveillance period and 435,619 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 16,977,293 samples are available. Out of 16,977,293 the number of samples tested negative stands at 16,642,693 while as 334,600 have tested positive, among them 1,513 persons are active, 328,630 persons have recovered and 4,457 persons have died.
