70% poor consumers on starving, situation, no control on price rise : Bhim Singh

Jammu, October 30, 2021: The President of J&K National Panthers Party, Prof. Bhim Singh today visited several market areas where vegetable prices have shot up 50% in the past few days. Several poor people were seen looking  desperate and helpless in the vegetable markets and only a couple of people were purchasing vegetables.

Prof.Bhim Singh after walking for hours in the vegetable market was shocked. He said that it appears that more than 50% of the starving people could not afford to buy the vegetables even upto 10% of their need.

Prof.Bhim Singh advised the Srinagar (Kashmir) Panthers Party office and asked them to go to the vegetable markets and shops and report back about the vegetable prices. After an hour Provincial President-JKNPP, Farooq Ahmed Dar reported back that 3-4 Panthers Party activists accompanied him to the vegetable market and watched the terrible and pathetic situation. They reported back to Prof.Bhim Singh and explained that most of the poor people were seen returning back from the markets without purchasing enough vegetables and other eatables required for the families.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that he had collected information of this situation from Baramullah as well as Ananatnag and got the same horrifying information about the prices rising in Jammu province and Kashmir Valley and other places. He could not talk to any relevant person in this regard from Ladakh and has left questions for Ladakhi activists of the Panthers Party for information tomorrow.

Prof.Bhim Singh has urged the President of India, Mr. Ramnath Kovind to direct the present Central Govt. to end the present situation in J&K and Ladakh. The Govt. should also allow the residents to go back and restore the status of the State as it existed before August 5, 2019. This is one of the ways to save the suffering, starving and politically enslaved residents of J&K and Ladakh.
