Panchayat Conference demands restoration of PRC system in Jammu Kashmir
Jammu, September 8, 2021: Accusing all political parties of failing to raise the basic concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, elected Panchayat leaders of Jammu and Kashmir comprising BDC Chairpersons, DDC members and Sarpanches have demanded the restoration of earlier permanent Resident Certificate system in Jammu and Kashmir instead of domicile certificate. The Panchayat leaders who gathered here at winter capital on Wednesday also decided to launch a movement in the entire Jammu and Kashmir for providing free of cost electricity and water supply to the residents saying that electricity and water are local resources of Jammu and Kashmir and they have first right on these resources.
While addressing a press conference on Wednesday at Jammu, Shafiq Mir chairman of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference said that All political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have completely failed to highlight the genuine issues of the people and they were busy just to settle their past corruption issues . Mir appealed the people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly new generation leaders to join hands like Ladakh political leaders and fight for their genuine rights and issues .
Led by Shafiq Mir who is chairman of block development council Bufliaz and chairman All J& K Panchayat Conference, Panchayat leaders present on the occasion released a five point program to fight for in future .
- To restore the Permanent resident Certificate( PRC) system in Jammu and Kashmir with one time inclusion of west Pakistan refugees residing in Jammu and Kashmir since partition. All other state subjects will be only those defined in the earlier PRC system introduced by late Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Provide free of cost electricity and water supply to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir . As electricity is produced in Jammu and Kashmir so we have first right on its usage . Jammu and Kashmir People should be provided free of cost electricity and water supply
- Abolish property tax in Jammu and Kashmir as we the people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing blood shed and proxy war for the past three decades . Charging property tax from the residents of Jammu and Kashmir is a sheer injustice .
- Reserve all govt jobs for the local youth of Jammu and Kashmir .
- Cancel all mining contracts given to outsiders which has raised the cost of the material for local residents .
While releasing this five point agenda of the people , The Panchayat leaders have appealed to all political and social activists to raise these issues from all their available platforms . The Panchayat leaders also vowed to fight for these issues at all levels .
