Vitasta Music Productions, Vomedh pay musical tribute to Pt. Jagan Nath Shivpuri

Jammu, January 29, 2023: Ravi Dhar, director Vitasta Music Productions in collaboration with the cultural organization Vomedh organized a grand musical event on January 29 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu to pay tributes to legendary music luminary Pt. Jagan Nath Shivpuri – doyen of Indian classical music in Jammu & Kashmir.
In 1929, Pandit Ji established Prem Sangeet Niketan in Kashmir to impart Indian Classical music to the masses of the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.
The legendary Guru was instrumental in making Indian classical music popular in the state. He was versatile in both vocal and instrumental fields and hundreds of the pupils benefited from his mastery of the field.
On this occasion, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner K.K.Sidha was the chief guest. Mr. Sidha was all praise for the programme & its organizers. He stressed for holding such events in future also to keep the new generation abreast with our culture and tradition.
Shyam Sajan, the renowned Gazal Singer of the state was guest of honour on this occasion. Eminent personalities who attended the event included Krishen Langoo- state award winner in the field of art, Ramesh Hangloo of Radio Sharda, Prem Nath Shad-renowned poet, Usha Kher- DSP of Jammu & Kashmir Police & the offspring’s of Guruji.
The programme started with Saraswati Vandana. A documentary on the Guruji was the highlight of the programme.
The participants included Suraj Singh, Juhi Singh (Hindi), Suneeta Bhan (Kashmiri Bhajan), Rishab, Harshita Pandita, Mohd. Arif, Khanak Tandon, Asad Anjum (Kashmiri Song) & Barbie (Thumri Hindi). The other participants were Arshiya, Shahul, Kyra and Adhiya.
