Vipul Bali seeks roll back of GST imposed on eatables
JAMMU, JULY 20, 2022: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Youth Wing, Vipul Bali today demanded roll back of the GST imposed on the eatables by the GST Council as it has made goods more costly.
In a statement issued, Bali said that “There is strong resentment among the people against the imposition of GST on the daily routine eatables and it would make the goods out of pocket for the poor people.”
He said that the GST Council should reconsider the enhancement of GST so that the people can get some relief.
“Already the people have come under huge financial burden with dropping value of rupee and further taxes will over burden the people who are facing the financial issues following covid19 lockdown in J&K,” he said.
He said that “The youth are unemployed and those who appeared in competition for recruitment in different Depts are on roads. In this situation, the over-burdening of the people is unjustified and hence, the decision must be reviewed by the Govt.”
He also highlighted concern over the rise of petrol and diesel which has also put the people in stress and the middle class and poor families are not able to fulfill their daily needs. He also demanded that the petrol and diesel prizes must be brought down.
