Vemedh (Vomedh) invited to stage “Aadhi Raat Ke Baad” at 2nd National Hindi Drama Festival, Howrah

The play “Aadhi Raat Ke Baad” is directed and designed by prominent theatre director of J&K, Mushtaq Kak

Jammu, August 15, 2022: Vemedh Rangmanch (Vomedh) a prominent theatre group of J&K has been invited by Paschim Banga Hindi Academy, Government of West Bengal to stage the play “Aadhi Raat Ke Baad” at 2nd National Hindi Drama festival at Sarat Sadan, Howrah to be held from September 7 to September 9, 2022.

Vemedh Rangmanch (Vomedh) presentation “Aadhi Raat Ke Baad”. a play written by Shanker Shesh and designed and directed by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and former Director Shri Ram Centre for Performing Art, New Delhi, Mushtaq Kak, will be staged at prestigious 2nd National Hindi Drama festival at Sarat Sadan, Howrah. The festival has been organised by Paschim Banga Hindi Academy, Government of West Bengal.

The cast of the play includes renowned artists from J&K Shazi Khan, Puneet J Bali and Amit Gupta.

The play is presented by the famous theatre group Vemedh Rangmanch (Vomedh) which has carved a niche in the field of theatre in Jammu and Kashmir and is associated with some of the famous plays, Nukad Nataks besides being the co-organiser of Jammu International Film Festival.

Some of the famous plays of Vomedh include ‘Ek Aur Birbal’, ‘Choper Yei Gaash’, ‘Khoya Bachpan’, ‘Atteeth Ke Saakhshi’, ‘Mar Kar Jeena’, ‘Mujrim Mein Nahi Par Mein Hi Hoon’ etc.

The play “Aadhi Raat Ke Baad” which revolves around an attempted theft in a judge’s house has been designed and directed by Mushtaq Kak, who is a renowned theatre director, Film Artist and writer and is one of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardees of the state.

“Aadhi Raat Ke Baad” is a captivating play where a professional thief attempts a theft at the house of a judge and solves a murder mystery of a journalist as he is the eye witness to it.

Mushtaq Kak

Mushtaq Kak is known for his plays Andha Yug, Malika, and Pratibimb for which he was awarded the best director award while Maha Brahmin and Alladad were adjudged best plays.

He has directed more than 100 plays all from different writers.
