Vemedh Repertory to stage “Lamhon Ki Mulaqat” at Alwar Theatre Festival – 2023, Rajasthan on January 16

The play “Lamhon Ki Mulaqat” based on Krishan Chandra’s 2 stories ‘Poore Chand Ki Raat’ and ‘Shahzada’ is directed and designed by prominent theatre director of J&K, Mushtaq Kak

Jammu, January 06, 2023: Vemedh Rangmanch ‘Repertory’ a prominent theatre group of J&K is going to stage the play “Lamhon Ki Mulaqat” at Alwar Theatre Festival – 2023, Alwar Rajasthan on January 16, 2023, during the 75-Day long theatre festival, organised by Alwar Rangam, to be held from 13th January to 28th March 2023.

Vemedh Rangmanch presentation “Lamhon Ki Mulaqat”, a play based on Krishan Chandra’s 2 stories, ‘Poore Chand Ki Raat’ and ‘Shahzada’, dramatized by Uma Jhunjhunwala and designed and directed by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and former Director Shri Ram Centre for Performing Art, New Delhi, Mushtaq Kak, will be staged at prestigious Alwar Theatre Festival – 2023, Alwar Rajasthan during the 75-Day long theatre festival, organised by Alwar Rangam.

The play is presented by the famous theatre group Vemedh Rangmanch (Vomedh) which has carved a niche in the field of theatre in Jammu and Kashmir and is associated with some of the famous plays, besides being the co-organiser of Jammu International Film Festival.

Some of the famous plays of Vemedh include ‘Ek Aur Birbal’, ‘Choper Yei Gaash’, ‘Khoya Bachpan’, ‘Atteeth Ke Saakhshi’, ‘Mar Kar Jeena’, ‘Mujrim Mein Nahi Par Mein Hi Hoon’ etc.

The play “Lamhon Ki Mulaqat” which revolves around the plot of ‘Love and Betrayal’ has been designed and directed by Mushtaq Kak, who is a renowned theatre director, Film Artist and writer and is one of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardees of the state.

“Lamhon Ki Mulaqat” (Based on Krishan Chander’s 2 Stories Poore Chand Ki Raat and Shahzada) mirrors a tragic tale of love and true devotion and how it changes people that they are ready to change their entire identity… their very existence for their beloved… only to be betrayed by it “boats may change but river banks live to tell stories of love that were born in them and none has been able to define love… it is an out of the world concept”

Mushtaq Kak is known for his plays Andha Yug, Malika, and Pratibimb for which he was awarded the best director award while Maha Brahmin and Alladad were adjudged best plays. Mushtaq Kak is also a renowned TV and Film artist having worked with top end TV, Film and OTT productions.

He has directed more than 100 plays all from different writers.
